Always treated like family! Best prices in town as well!
For years, my family and I took our dog to Dr. Kirk's. Our dog had her one and only litter of puppies at the age of four, and at the age of five, a tumor came up in one of her breasts. Dr. Kirk simply told us that it was a tumor, that she was too old for surgery, and he never did a biopsy/any bloodwork/etc. He did not even bother to give us options for a specialist to see if the tumor could be removed. For years, he kept telling us she was too old for any sort of surgery (despite the fact our dog had never once been ill/acted her age).
We recently moved to Ohio, and unfortunately, our dog's cancer has come back. The vet we now see doesn't understand why Dr.Kirk would repeatedly tell us she was too old. Our dog now faces 2 more major surgeries in the near future. I can't help but wonder if our dog would not be having surgeries had Dr.Kirk simply gave us the number to the Coffee County Veterinary Hospital four years ago. Maybe our dog would be cancer-free and living out her golden years in peace.
Sincerely
Dr. Kirk has been our pets doctor since moving to Tennessee. Through out every exam, emergency loss of a beloved fur baby and just because I panic cost Dr. Kirk and his staff are always caring and respectful.
Our dog is now nine years old. Back in June, she fell ill. She completely declined overnight. Her mammary tumor swelled to twice its size, and she was in obvious pain. We rushed her to Dr.Kirk's the following morning (mainly due to his office being closer). He gave her medicine to bring down her fever and gave us some painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs. He couldn't tell us why her tumor would swell like that overnight. 3 days later, our dog was sitting on the couch, and her tumor busted open (there was enough infection to cover the entire seating area of a couch). We brought her back to Dr.Kirk only to be prescribed more medicine and told it was good the tumor busted. We demanded the number for a specialist, and he reluctantly gave it to us (claiming once more she was too old).
Dr.Kirk is in our opinion highly knowledgeable and professional.
(The only reason we kept seeing Dr.Kirk for those four years was because convenience of location and price. Also out of ignorance of outside veterinarians. We were lucky to have came into money otherwise our dog wouldn't have had her first surgery at CCVH.)
If his office is not equipped to treat he will not hesitate to send you to a doctor he trust.
You can spend more money and maybe go to a fancier office but, you will never have a better doctor for your animals.
You can find a fancier office but, you will not find a better veterinarian or staff.

Dr.Kirk has been our fur babies doctor for over 10 years since moving to Tennessee. We trust that he has our pets best interest at heart. He doesn't need to go through unnecessary tests or treatment because with his many years of experience treating animals he has gained not only med experience but common sense when treating animals.
The number we called was for the Coffee County Veterinary Hospital. We brought her down there a couple of days after the tumor busted. They checked her out, did bloodwork, and got her complete history. They gave her the okay for surgery. Our dog survived surgery and recovered with flying colors.
Nice people and my animal was treated well.
His years of experience and love for animals no doubt has made him the excellent doctor that he is .
I know from experience he does not put us through unnecessary worry or expense. I trust any intern that trains under Dr.Kirk also .
