Was a great day (Tuesday) and time (5:00 p.m.) to stop and eat at this Shoney's.
Have not been here in at least 5 years but next time i pass this way I will be stopping.
Don't waste your time!!! It's a bunch of kids standing around texting on their phones while you sit and wait for someone to take your order. I asked for a to-go cup for my tea when I decided to leave. I never got a cup, but I sure as heck got charged $2.40 for 3 sips out of an iced tea. One young man was out in the lobby eating with someone and kept getting up and going back in to the kitchen. Also, the reason we were ordering off the menu at a buffet was because the buffet was so disgusting that there was no way we would eat from it.
All the food on the buffet wad hot and fresh and yummy... and Alexandria kept my table clear of empty plates and my drink glass full :)
Food was awesome but I about got sick when I went to mens restroom. Man that place was nasty. Clean it up dufe.
My husband and I were passing through and got super excited to see a Shoney' s as there aren't any left where we live. It was a highly disappointing visit. The servers were all hanging out on their phones instead of getting us refills or seeing if we needed anything (we we6re the only customers). The food in the buffet was disgusting and dried out as if it had been sitting all day. An old man came in while we we6re there and was ignored for so long that he left. We could hear our server say "I guess I'll go see what they want" because my husband was looking around needing a refill. The MANAGERS kids came in and went straight to the drink station and used his cup to scoop the ice into his cup. After he sat at a table eating the ice he went back to the drink station and dipped his now extremely dirty cup onto the ice for a refill. This was overall a terrible visit and crom the reviews I've seen, this seems to be the normal. Please don't waste your time. The food and service were both terrible!
It was my first time had a dinner at Shoney's. The food was good, especially fried catfish. The bathroom was very outdated and dirty. Hope in the future they will pay more attention on their restaurant's cleanness.
